Role Purpose
The conflict in Ukraine is resulting in a protractive humanitarian crisis with over 1 million Ukrainian refugees living in Poland. Plan International is responding by working in partnership with civil society organizations to meet the key needs of those directly affected by the crisis as well as the needs of host communities.
This position will play a key role in supporting country-level activities in SRHR programming, particularly in HIV programming. It will provide technical support and guidance to Plan International team, implementing HIV partners in Poland and governmental health care providers.
Development of communicational and educational materials in HIV, training health care practitioners, working with adolescent and young populations, sex workers, men who have sex with men, and drug users amongst other Key populations in HIV programming, and integrating gender-inclusive HIV prevention and care will be critical elements of the role.
Dimensions of the Role
The position is a technical part-time position that will support Plan International Poland’s HIV programming to address the needs of Ukrainian adolescents and young people, men who have sex with men (MSM), sex workers, people living with HIV (PLHIV), People who used drugs, (PWUD) to access HIV information and services.
This role is also intended to strengthen the Partner Organisations’ and healthcare providers’ commitment to responsive and inclusive HIV programming, with a strong focus on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI).
Responsibilities
· Provide HIV and STI-related technical assistance to the project team.
· Design/update HIV and STI information for educational workshops and social media communication materials
· Train health care providers in gender-responsive HIV care
· Review technical content of HIV /STI standards and guidelines
· Support the project team to develop SOP and guidelines in HIV referral services.
· Map HIV service provision in the country and assess the quality and age- and gender-responsiveness of services, identifying areas where Plan International could provide additional support.
· Identify in-country HIV-STI referral mechanisms and identify opportunities for Plan International to support or strengthen
· Ensure quality technical input into project documents and publications
· Support the development of quality communication tools on HIV programming to be used in HIV-related conferences, symposia and relevant events.
· Conduct assessments as needed, developing key recommendations for Plan International Poland, partners, and the wider health sector.
· Represent Plan International in the Health Working Group in Poland.
· Support Information Management, communications, and advocacy efforts to ensure that SRHR-HIV integration in relevant products (incl. SitReps).

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
Essential
· University degree, preferably in health, medical degree or postgraduate in public health or other relevant discipline.
· Demonstrate knowledge of the Polish health system and context.
· Demonstrable experience and expert knowledge of key practices and standards for HIV prevention, treatment and care.
· Minimum 6 years experience in implementing projects on HIV and STIs
· Strong technical capacity in HIV programming with key populations (MSM, Sex workers , PWUD, PLHIV; LGBTIQ+ communities)
· Significant experience in SRHR programming including comprehensive sexuality education and training health care providers in STI and HIV.
· Actively promoting diversity, gender equality and inclusion.
· A good knowledge of global health development issues, especially community-based approach to addressing HIV/AIDS, health system strengthening, and familiarity with health information systems
· Demonstrate ability to review, analyse health data, synthesize information and produce quality technical documents
· Strong understanding of safeguarding and prevention of sexual assault and exploitation (PSEA)
· Experience working with LGBTIQ+ communities, Local Polish NGOs and health care services in Poland.
· Conversant with the international humanitarian architecture, particularly related to coordination and funding. Demonstrated prior experience of engaging with the humanitarian coordination system at local, regional and global levels.
· Strong training, facilitation and presentation skills.
· Solid communications, influencing and persuasion skills.
· Good writing and editing skills, including fluent written and spoken English and Polish. Ukrainian is an asset.
· Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.
· Capacity to manage demanding workloads, often in complex environments.
· Aptitude to prioritize tasks, work independently and to tight deadlines.

It is preferred that the candidate is based in Warsaw, Poland but remote work can be considered The role might require to travel or displaced to other locations regularly, sometimes at short notice.
