Project HOPE is a global health and humanitarian organization dedicated to empowering healthcare workers and providing communities with the support they need to improve health outcomes. Project HOPE is seeking a dedicated Psychologist to provide mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services to vulnerable populations. The psychologist will conduct assessments, deliver individual and group therapy sessions, and develop intervention plans to support individuals coping with trauma, displacement, and other psychological challenges. The role will require close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and effective referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for individuals in need of mental health support.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based interventions.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that address the specific needs of beneficiaries.
- Offer crisis intervention and psychoeducation, particularly for individuals experiencing trauma, stress, or displacement.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and treatment progress.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, social workers, and case managers to ensure a holistic approach to mental health care.
- Conduct training and capacity-building sessions for staff, community workers, and volunteers on mental health and psychosocial support principles.
- Advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatization within communities.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and confidentiality policies in mental health service delivery.
- Participate in data collection and reporting to assess the impact of interventions and contribute to program development.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience providing psychological support, including therapy and counseling.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Ukrainian, English, and Polish is required.
- Competence in crisis intervention and psychological first aid.
- Familiarity with mental health and gender-based violence (GBV) case management.
- Experience in community-based mental health programs and refugee/migrant mental health services.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, trauma-informed care, psychosocial support techniques).
Technical Expertise:
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Capacity to work in challenging environments and manage high-stress situations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- High level of empathy, active listening, and cultural sensitivity.
Soft Skills:
- Compliance & Ethics: Commitment to Project HOPE’s values, including adherence to ethical standards, confidentiality principles, and safeguarding policies.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with humanitarian organizations or NGOs.
- Training in psychosocial support methodologies for displaced populations.
- Understanding of public health approaches to mental health.
