Skills and Education Program Assistant - CARE Poland

Location: Warsaw, Poland

10,000 - 11,000 PLN /monthly

The Skills and Education Program Assistant will be responsible for providing technical and practical assistance for the successful implementation of the Upskilling and Education Projects and monitor CARE’s education project with partners in Poland and in relation to the Ukraine refugee crisis. An ideal candidate will provide guidance to the project team in achieving the agreed goals within the set timeframe, quality, and budget standards. The Skills and Education Program Assistant will be a core member in CARE’s Education in Emergency response and will be responsible for ensuring assistance in implementation of humanitarian programs. The selected candidate will provide technical support, conduct research and provide practical assistance to partners in areas mutually identified with the partners, and may include: emergency assessments, program design, development, and implementation. The Skills and Education Program Assistant will provide support where needed for the quality and effectiveness of CARE’s presence and use of resources. It is essential for the Skills and Education Program Assistant to also work closely with other all team members, including the Country Director and Senior Management Team, as well as communications and finance, to mainstream risk mitigation and ensure aligned and comprehensive approaches are being provided.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provides technical and practical assistance for the successful implementation of humanitarian projects;
  • Ensures that all project activities are documented and reported in a timely manner;
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation;
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of project report and presentations to donors and stakeholders;
  • Supports the development and dissemination of project communication materials;
  • Shows excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective and working relations with local staff and other stakeholders.
  • Supports the Senior Management Team in preparing for inter-agency Education Working Groups (e.g., led by UNHCR or relevant government bodies) by compiling project updates, lessons learned, data summaries, and key talking points.
  • Supports procurement processes for education-related supplies and learning materials as per CARE and donor guidelines.
  • Contributes to drafting donor updates, success stories, and human-interest content in collaboration with the communications team
  • Assists Senior Management Team members in coordinating day-to-day project activities and provide technical and practical assistance for the successful implementation of humanitarian projects.
  • Ensures all project activities are thoroughly documented and reported in a timely manner. Maintains accurate and up-to-date project records, ensuring secure storage and accessibility for the project team. Assist in the preparation and submission of project reports and presentations for donors and stakeholders.
  • Supports the development and dissemination of project communication materials and contribute to drafting donor updates, success stories, and human-interest content in collaboration with the communications team.
  • Liaises with local and national education authorities to support coordination, ensures alignment with government policies, and advocate for project goals.
  • Proactively implements activities with other team members, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility for end results.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and availability to travel within Poland is required.

Our requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Business Administration, Humanitarian Studies or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. - Minimum of two years of experience in project coordination, administration, or a similar role;
  • Experience working in refugee, displacement, or multicultural settings.
  • Knowledge of the Polish education system or experience working with schools is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills;
  • Values teamwork and is skilled at building effective and professional relationships with colleagues
  • Interest in humanitarian sector and education or experience in international /national NGO, UN agency;
  • Fluency in Polish and English is required
  • Ukrainian or Russian language proficiency is considered an additional asset.
