📍 Location: Any Bankwatch country in central and eastern Europe

Join CEE Bankwatch Network, Europe’s largest grassroots environmental network striving to make public finance work for people and the planet. We campaign for climate justice, clean energy, and stronger communities across central and eastern Europe.
As Grants Development Coordinator, you’ll lead fundraising strategy and proposal development for our impactful environmental and social justice campaigns.
🔑 Key responsibilities
Donor mapping and development
- Conduct due diligence and provide donor intelligence
- Coordinate with Strategic Area Leaders to match needs with donor interests
- Track calls for proposals and share relevant opportunities with teams
- Identify funding opportunities aligned with Bankwatch’s goals
Proposal development
- Evaluate proposal processes and address previous shortcomings
- Create tools to support proposal planning, such as logframes and theories of change
- Ensure proposals are coherent, timely, and aligned with donor requirements
- Lead end-to-end proposal development: planning, writing, coordination, and submission
Team coordination and supervision
- Support internal discussions around funding at leadership meetings
- Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely delivery
- Supervise the grant writer and oversee fundraising team workflows
Fundraising strategy
- Work closely with Strategic Area Leaders to identify and pursue funding needs
- Update internal fundraising guidelines and contribute to strategy documents
- Stay updated on political and funding trends to adjust strategic focus
- Lead and monitor the implementation of Bankwatch’s fundraising strategy
Administration and relationship building
- Support donor relationship management and archiving of relevant intelligence
- Represent Bankwatch in funder networks like the G10
- Maintain the fundraising calendar, portals, and records
✅ What we’re looking for
- NGO background or regional knowledge is a plus
- Proficiency in English and office software
- Familiarity with calls for proposals and online submission systems
- Excellent proposal writing and donor reporting skills
- Strong knowledge of EU funding tools, especially in environment, energy, human rights, or civil society
- 2+ years’ experience in EU-funded projects or grant writing
