About CARE: Founded in 1945, CARE is a leading international humanitarian organization focusing on women and girls. After World War II, CARE mobilized to send much-needed food rations, known as "CARE packages," to Poles and refugees who had been ravaged by war and occupation. As the war in Ukraine escalated, CARE returned to Poland to help Ukrainian refugees. To date, in cooperation with NGOs, we have provided direct assistance to more than one million people.
