Role Summary

Are you passionate about driving policy change for a more sustainable food system? Join Fundacja ProVeg as a Policy Officer or Policy Manager (depending on experience) and play a key role in accelerating the shift towards plant-based food in Poland. In this impact-driven role, you will lead our public affairs efforts and strengthen our voice on protein diversification. You will build strategic collaborations with decision-makers, NGOs, and industry stakeholders while developing evidence-based policy recommendations that advance our mission.

This is a unique opportunity to influence national food policy and engage in high-level advocacy—with the strong support of the ProVeg Poland team and our international network.

Reports to: Patricia Homa (Country Director ProVeg Poland)
Location: Remote (Poland)
Hours: 20h per week 
Contract duration: 2 years
Salary: PLN 4,500-5,000 gross per month

Responsibilities

As Policy Officer or Policy Manager, you will:

  • Lead ProVeg Poland’s engagement with government bodies, public institutions, NGOs, and industry associations.
  • Monitor and analyse developments in Polish and EU policy affecting food systems, agriculture, health, and the environment.
  • Research, draft, and review policy briefings, position papers, and consultation responses.
  • Develop and implement public affairs strategies and campaigns in close collaboration with the Communications Manager.
  • Represent Fundacja ProVeg in stakeholder meetings, national and international events, coalitions, and the media.
  • Organise and facilitate roundtables, workshops, and other high-level events to promote plant-based policies.
  • Track project milestones and ensure high-quality, timely delivery of outputs.
  • Provide expert input to project reports and support communications and campaign content where relevant.

Qualifications

Required

  • At least 2 years of experience in policy analysis, project management, public affairs, or stakeholder engagement, ideally in food systems, health, or sustainability.
  • Proven ability to develop evidence-based policy materials and to engage with political stakeholders and government institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of the Polish political landscape and understanding of EU and national policy-making processes.
  • Native-level fluency in Polish and professional proficiency in English.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in media relations or public speaking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted partnerships across sectors.
  • Excellent organisational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Poland and abroad.

Preferred

  • Experience working in or with NGOs, coalitions, or advocacy groups.
  • Understanding of plant-based protein innovation or the alt-food sector.
  • Familiarity with policy developments in the areas of climate, nutrition, or public procurement.
