Project HOPE Polska is rapidly expanding its operations. We recently hired a professional for a similar role and are now looking for an additional team member to strengthen our Finance Department. As our programs grow, so does the need for strong financial oversight and administrative support. This is a unique opportunity to join a committed, dynamic team that truly makes a difference.

The Accountant will support the financial operations of Project HOPE Polska, ensuring accurate accounting, timely payments and settlements, cooperation with the external accounting office, and full compliance with Polish law, organizational policies, and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payments and Daily Accounting
  • Review procurement and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare payment requests in line with organizational standards.
  • Monitor fund availability (bank accounts, petty cash, controlled cash) and communicate financial positions to budget holders.
  • Post financial transactions (RV, PV, JV) into the internal accounting system.
  • Reconcile accounting data with financial reports.
  • Payroll and HR Cooperation
  • Cooperate with the HR team and external HR office to prepare payroll and employee benefits.
  • Process salary payments in accordance with Project HOPE policies and Polish legal requirements.
  • Monitor ZUS and health insurance contributions and reconcile employee leave balances.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and donor financial policies and procedures.
  • Cooperate with the external accounting office (Saldeo, Enova365).
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations between internal accounting systems and external accounting records.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements for foundations in accordance with Polish law.
  • Archive financial documentation in cloud-based systems.
  • Reconcile inventory and fixed assets.
  • Support ongoing financial and administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Very good knowledge of Polish and international accounting principles.
  • Good command of English.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Experience with Enova365, Saldeo, and NetSuite is an asset.
  • Experience in the NGO/humanitarian sector is an advantage.
