Social Support Specialist - Berlin
INTRODUCTION
Right to Protection is a charitable organization focused on providing assistance to people with migrant experience, individuals under temporary protection, persons in need of international protection, stateless persons, persons at risk of statelessness, and undocumented individuals.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
WORK IN BERLIN, GERMANY.
The project aims to provide Ukrainian nationals residing in European countries with access to reliable information, individualized counselling, and support necessary to enable informed and voluntary decisions about their future.
The project establishes a Regional Counselling and Referral Network that connects counselling services provided across European countries with the support and reintegration system available in Ukraine.
The Social Support Specialist is a member of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside a legal advisor and a community engagement specialist. The position is responsible for assessing beneficiaries' needs, providing counselling on return preparedness, supporting reintegration planning, and coordinating beneficiaries' access to relevant services both in Ukraine and in their country of residence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- conducting individual consultations and assessing beneficiaries’ needs;
- providing information on available forms of social support and services offered by public institutions and non-governmental organizations;
- supporting beneficiaries in accessing social benefits, healthcare, education, the labor market, and other public services;
- providing assistance to people with migration experience, in particular Ukrainian citizens and individuals under temporary protection;
- cooperating with public institutions, non-governmental organizations, and other partners to ensure comprehensive support for beneficiaries;
- maintaining documentation related to provided support and preparing required reports;
- monitoring beneficiaries’ situations and identifying their needs;
- participating in project implementation, information and educational activities, and collaborating with the project team.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- higher education, preferably in social work, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, or related fields;
- minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a non-governmental organization or humanitarian project;
- experience working with foreigners, refugees, or individuals at risk of social exclusion will be an asset;
- fluent knowledge of German and Ukrainian;
- English at a minimum B2 level;
- good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- ability to build relationships with beneficiaries and conduct supportive conversations;
- strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- independence, responsibility, and ability to work in a team;
- analytical skills and attention to detail.
